Wow what a ride . Amazing , KA has done it once more for me with another man and her story . I will say what I always say KA is one amazing author . Tanner Layne and Raquel Merrick fell in love young, hard and fast and both of them knew a beautiful life they thought would be forever.Until Rocky left Layne, no explanation, no going back.Layne escapes The ‘Burg only to come back years later because his ex-wife has hooked herself to the town jerk and Layne needs to make sure his sons get raised right. I LOVED him in this book he had me swoooning everytime he talked . I love how when he talked he explained things and gave Awesome advice . He truly was a man of heart . His love for his boys amazing , his love for Rocky Truly awesome . His standing by the woman he loved for soo long , not giving up on her at all .. “Layne knew he was in love with her. Not only that, he’d never stopped loving her. Not once, not for a second, not for twenty-one years.Fuck him.” Rocky ... Total awesome , once I understood completely her reasoning for leaving Layne . Which took me a bit to fully understand , that she wanted him to have a beautiful life , and in her mind he was not going to get that with her and her thinking she would be dead by the time she was 39 like her mom, She did not want him to end up like she saw her dad and brother ... But in another point I will say she should of talked to Layne at the time instead of running . I understand why she did what she did , her age , scared, what she went through in the end I understood it ... I was glad in the end that she did have a break down and Everything came out ... “His fingers curled around her neck and he put his forehead to hers before sharing, “I remember, Rocky. I remember everything. I remember every… fucking… thing.” I LOVE how KA always keep players from previous books in the scene . getting those little pieces of previous Couples is awesome .
